The Burning of Vision is an exhibition of artefacts at the intersection of Baroque architecture and tabletop gaming. By employing materials and techniques of model-making for games, the exhibition undermines the typically opulent and excessive Western architectural style. The material practices of cardboard modelling, plaster casting, and miniature painting disarm the ‘monumental’ Baroque; leaving its essential motifs of repetition, scale and escapism. The work within The Burning of Vision is designed to challenge the perception of the viewer through drastic shifts in scale and detail, replicating the perceptual disorientation of being inside a Baroque cathedral.

The catalogue essay for the exhibition was compiled by Kieron Broadhurst and available on his website.

The Burning of Vision was shown at the Floating Goose Studios Inc. from the 5th - 28th of March, 2021, and was a part of the Adelaide Fringe Festival, in which is was awarded a weekly ‘Best Visual Art & Design Award’ by the Adelaide Fringe.
